I put it on for a costume party I had to attend. It was cheap and served the purpose of one night of fun. I used to wear an afro in the 80’s. If my afro was as ugly as this wig, I would have shaved my head. Luckily, all I had to do was take it off when I got home.

When it arrived I was disappointed at first as I pulled it from the packaging. After washing it with a little shampoo and conditioner, hung it upside down to dry, and it after drying it transformed to voluminous head of thick hair. This could be worn outside of a costume.

I purchased this for a 70’s party and it’s perfect. Has a soft texture and feels like real hair. I followed the instructions of brushing it out to fluff it up. It surprisingly fluffed up without shedding. Also comes with an adjustment to secure it be I didn’t need it.

This afro had 2 types of grade of hair. You definitely have to wash it to achieve the afro look and texture. I had to wash it 4 times in order to get the look and feel of a true African American afro. If you are willing to put in the work, then i would suggest buying it. But, honestly you can go to the nearest beauty supply store and get an afro.
