The hair is soft and not scratchy or itchy. The hair doesn’t have a smell to it either. I think the amount of hair in the hat is good. It wouldn’t hurt to have a little more lol, but I just prefer really full hair. The hair is great like it is. It’s also big head friendly. It’s a tad tight around my forehead, so when I’m in the car I have to pull it up so I don’t get a headache (which is what you see in the photo), but when I’m at my destination I pull it down, and rock it on.
